The Vierge du Vercors via ferrata is a cliffside route equipped where mountaineering techniques are used for progression.
It is an activity to be practiced independently by specialists or accompanied by professionals.

Elevation gain: 200 m
Length: 600 m
Starting altitude: 930 m
Ending altitude: 1400 m
Approach walk: 30 minutes
Route duration: 2 to 3 hours depending on skill level
Return to parking: 30 minutes or 1 hour via the Pas de Saint Martin

Necessary equipment:
40-meter attachment rope
4 quickdraws
Helmet, harness, lanyards
Belay system for the lead climber
Belay system for the second climber

Overlooking the winding road of the Col du Rousset, the Via Ferrata de Chironne offers a breathtaking panorama of the Diois.

Difficulty : AD (quite difficult) with an optional TD variant (very difficult overhang). Several itineraries allow you to adjust the route according to the level of the group.

The approach is short (10 min) and the effort on the wall lasts around 2 hours, interspersed with easy sequences, followed by a bucolic return of 20 minutes.

Suitable for people not prone to vertigo (the final part has 150 m of empty space underfoot! Souvenirs guaranteed). You can observe vultures there.
