Transvercors Nordic
Until 5 February 2023

Sunday 5th march 2023

The Traversée du Vercors hiver or "the Traversée" as the initiated say, was the first long distance race in France (first edition on 18th March 1968), it crosses from south to north the high plateaux of the Vercors, a protected natural area within the Vercors Regional Natural Park, the route is only prepared and groomed on this occasion.

The "old-timers" remember epic adventures: they will tell you about the Erges canyon, a memorable descent where the skiers piled up … the race has become more muted with, as elsewhere, more efficient means than 40 years ago.

On Sunday, all the enthusiasts will be able to do the 53 kms linking the Col de Rousset to Villard de Lans (Bois Barbu) and go back to the descent of the Econdus, the Coche, Pré Rateau, the Vialarets, Herbouilly, the Sambue, Malaterre, the Galmiche…. that are all names smelling good of Nordic adventure.

Two formats:
-Chrono by team of two
-Discovery

A shuttle bus system to and from the event is available to participants if they register in advance.

A friendly 18 km hike, inter-generational, is also proposed from Herbouilly.
